FALL CLEAN-UP (and Leaf Removal)

A carpet of fallen leaves can present a number of problems for your lawn and landscape.  First, a blanket of leaves resting on your grass over the fall and winter will smother the blades of grass, limiting sun, air, and moisture uptake which will kill the grass or inhibit growth.   Second, a heavy coverage of leaves can promote the growth of snow mold diseases.  Voles and mice also like a coverage of leaves over the lawn, their actions can cause turf damage.
